Travel 4-Regions, 12- States and Mexico!
 
2,300 miles to GWRRA National Headquarters is just a walk in the park on our Gold Wings!
 
You can take the entire trip or join in anywhere along the way
 
GWRRA National will take a PHOTO of the "Forty to Phoenix" group
It will be proudly be displayed on the wall of the National Headquarters with everyone's name displayed
 
The Group Photo will be on the cover of the Wing World Magazine 
and they will publish a mini series of articles and publish photo's
(email your articles and photo's with FORTY to PHOENIX in the subject line)

The first annual "Forty to Phoenix" Coast to Coast Ride
 
Bragging rights are yours forever!
 
There have been several ideas and discussions for next year
Members are wanting a Northern Route, Central Route and a Southern Route 
Either converging together as one huge group or staggered a couple of weeks apart
 
We need volunteers to head these ideas

RSVP if you are participating anywhere along the way
 
 
 
Stay in the Phoenix area or continue with the group 6 1/2 hours to California Pacific Ocean
For a true Coast to Coast Ride!
 
Ed Carroll the Chapter Director for California Chapter CA-1F
will be participating and arriving in Phoenix on Monday afternoon on the 15th
Departure back to California on the 17th
 
 
 
Then, we'll try to cross into Mexico!
Passports / Passport ID, or your Drivers License with Birth Certificates will do just fine
We are working on escorts across the border
 
 
 If we do ride across into Mexico
it is recomended thet you call you insurance carrier and get a 1-day rider
(for less than 50 miles into Mexico)
or you may purchased it online ($15.00-$20.00)

They are offering a huge discounts at their 5-star motel and it has a Casino
It is viewing distance from the border
 
Safety has become an concern with Mexico
We will not attempt to cross the border if there are any problems or safe
California members have been working on the arrangements
 
 

 
 
 
Some members will ride 5 hours to see the south rim of the Grand Canyon!
Plus, there are many more attractions to see!

 Wrightsville Beach in North Carolina
 
 
12th: Friday: 9 AM depart: Wrightville Beach
13th: Saturday: 9AM depart Oxford, Alabama
14th: Sunday: 9AM depart VanBuren, Arkansas
15th: Monday: 9AM depart Tucumcari, New Mexico
 Arrive Monday evening in Phoenix, AZ.
16th: Tuesday 9:30 AM meet at the GWRRA Headquarters

17th: Wednesday Depart for California (6 1/2 hours)
Chapter CA-1F along with the Region-F Director will meet us at GWRRA National Headquarters
and ride us into San Diego
 
We will be arriving in Coronada on the San Diego Bay
Ride on Silver Strand Blvd along the Beach
 
There is camping on the beach and there is also a KOA nearby 
 
Chapter CA-1F has a DINNER RIDE on the 18th anyone wishing to participate
 
We will Ride into Mexico
There is a very nice mexican restaurant we are going to visit
Then ride back into the US
 
 
 
 
We are looking at 500 to 600 miles a day
which is between 7-10 hours of riding time
(depending on the riders, weather and traffic)
 
Speed limits are 75 mph in New Mexico and Arizona
The roads are very beautiful (no pot-holes)
There is no traffic west of Arkansas
It is a sweet ride
 
Some riders like to ride at a faster pace, slower pace... that's OK
We'll adjust and split into groups as needed
Just as long as we meet at our destination 
 
Suggestions:
Make your motel reservations and tell them you want their best rate
Double up in Motels it's a great way to save money make FRIENDS
 
If you have any medical issues please fill out a Form N.12 Emergency Contact Sheet
Include your medical information and keep it in the right lockable pocket of your Wing
Tell a friend of any medical issues you might have
(i.e. diabetic, low sugar, heart or anything important for others to know)
